The University of North Carolina at Greensboro’s New Arrivals Institute (NAI) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to assist refugees and immigrants with self-sufficiency and U.S. citizenship through education. Incorporated in 2010, NAI has provided services to over 7,000 refugees and immigrants. NAI collaborates with local service providers and community partners to provide clients with the tools, skills, and knowledge they need to integrate and attain self-sufficiency. NAI blends in-house expertise with partnerships to ensure that services meet the needs of refugees and immigrants with English classes, cultural orientation, citizenship preparedness, health literacy, vocational education, skills recertification, and parent orientation. With USCIS FY 2024 funding, NAI will provide citizenship instruction to 256 LPRs, administer naturalization eligibility screenings to 320 LPRs, and file 280 Forms N-400 and G-28.
