The Refugee Women’s Alliance (ReWA) has provided citizenship instruction and naturalization application services to permanent residents since 1999. ReWA’s clients reside in South Seattle and King counties, and are primarily from Southeast Asia (Burma, Vietnam, Thailand), Middle East and Central Asia (Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Syria), and East Africa (Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan). ReWA was first awarded a USCIS grant in FY 2015. With USCIS FY 2022 funding, ReWA will provide citizenship instruction to 250 LPRs, administer naturalization eligibility screenings to 275 LPRs, and file 250 Forms N-400 and G-28.
