Northern Manhattan Coalition for Immigrant Rights aka the Coalition for Immigrant Freedom (NMCIR) has been providing immigration services since 1982. NMCIR serves low-income permanent residents in Northern Manhattan and the Bronx, as well in Westchester County, northern New Jersey, and Connecticut, over 90% of whom are Spanish speaking, primarily from the Dominican Republic and other countries in Latin America. NMCIR was first awarded a USCIS grant in FY 2011. With USCIS FY 2022 funding, NMCIR will provide citizenship instruction to 200 LPRs, administer naturalization eligibility screenings to 600 LPRs, and file 320 Forms N-400 and G-28.
