The National Partnership for New Americans (NPNA) is a national multiethnic, multiracial coalition and has been providing immigration services since 2010 to 61 immigrant and refugee organizations across 40 states. NPNA collaborates with its affiliates to advance immigrant equity and inclusion policies and to build and expand capacities around immigration legal services and integration programming. FY 2022 is the first year that NPNA has been awarded a USCIS grant. With USCIS FY 2022 funding, NPNA will establish the Southern Region Citizenship Initiative aimed at building citizenship capacity, outreach, education, application assistance and collaboration across three southern states: Alabama, Louisiana, and North Carolina. NPNA will serve as a central regional hub for the organizations to increase citizenship capacities, share resources, engage localities and states, expand partnerships, and learn from best practices across the region and country. All sub-applicants will receive close, hands-on technical assistance from NPNA, beginning with a site visit to include in-depth program analysis, program planning, community-asset and partnership mapping, and detailed technical assistance support and training plan creation. NPNA will serve as a communication and information sharing hub through monthly calls and emails to Southern Region partners, as well as bi-monthly webinars and trainings to share effective strategies and best practices around naturalization capacity building and service provision.
