The Nashville International Center for Empowerment (NICE) has been providing immigration services since 2005 and has offered both English literacy and civic education classes to prepare students for naturalization since 2008. NICE serves low-income refugees and immigrants of multiple linguistic and ethnic backgrounds and has built strong relationships with the Congolese, Somali, Sudanese, Burmese, Nepali, Afghan, Iraqi, Eritrean, Venezuelan, Colombian, Salvadoran, Cuban, Mexican, and Kurdish communities in Davidson County, TN. NICE received their first USCIS grant in FY 2017. With USCIS FY 2022 funding, NICE will provide citizenship instruction to 200 LPRs, administer naturalization eligibility screenings to 200 LPRs, and file 200 Forms N-400 and G-28.
