The Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI), in partnership with Iowa Migrant Movement for Justice (IMMJ), serves eligible individuals in Central Iowa and around the state. LSI began its citizenship education and naturalization support services in 2011, with a focus on elderly refugees. IMMJ has been providing immigration legal services for the past 21 years, with clients originating primarily from Mexico, Burma, El Salvador, Liberia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Guatemala, South Sudan, Honduras, Eritrea, and Iraq. LSI received their first USCIS grant in FY 2018. With USCIS FY 2022 funding, LSI and IMMJ will provide citizenship instruction to 228 LPRs, administer naturalization eligibility screenings to 220 LPRs, and file 200 Forms N-400 and G-28.
