Catholic Charities Archdiocese of San Antonio (CCAOSA), in partnership with the San Antonio Independent School District’s (SAISD) Adult & Community Education Program will provide English as a Second Language (ESL) and citizenship instruction classes, as well as free legal representation for clients in pursuit of naturalization. SAISD will provide multi-level classes during varying time slots. To provide a multitude of options to those in San Antonio and Del Rio, Texas, classes will be held in-person and online. Caritas Legal Services will help clients navigate the naturalization process. Attorneys can provide their services in multiple languages including Spanish, Arabic, Amharic, Hindi, Oromo, Pashto, Dari, and Somali. During their naturalization process, clients will be kept informed of their progress and provided extra resources through "Ask-A-Lawyer" events and mock interviews. In the FY 2023 grant cycle, CCAOSA will provide citizenship instruction and naturalization application services to 200 individuals.
