Over three-quarters of the questions carry over from the short-lived 2020 version, with revised wording on a handful of items. As under the 2008 version, an officer stops the test the moment an applicant has clearly passed (12 correct) or failed (9 incorrect), rather than always asking all 20.
Current status
This is the current operative standard for any N-400 filed on or after October 20, 2025. An application filed before that date is tested under the 2008 version (see that entry above) regardless of when the interview itself happens.
