About

Solutions in Hometown Connections (SHC) and sub-awardee, Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area (LSSNCA), have partnered to provide citizenship instruction and naturalization application services to LPRs in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties in Maryland as well as in Arlington, Alexandria, and Prince William counties in Virginia. LSSNCA has met the changing needs of its community since 1917, while SHC has connected with vulnerable and isolated members of the immigrant community since its inception in 2017. SHC is also partnering with the Prince George’s County Library to provide physical space for classes and complementary educational programs for English language learners, such as digital literacy. Together the organizations plan to serve 180 vulnerable immigrants during the FY 2023 grant cycle. 14 Innovations in Citizenship Preparation (Innovations)
