About

Since 1979, Literacy New Jersey (Literacy NJ), has been committed to strengthening New Jersey’s workforce, families, and communities by ensuring free, high-quality ESL instruction is available to adults who struggle with literacy. Literacy NJ serves primarily hard-to-reach LPRs, who earn low incomes, as well as those who identify as a member of a marginalized community. Literacy NJ and their partner Puerto Rican Action Board will offer an expansion of citizenship instruction and naturalization services to LPRs throughout New Jersey. With USCIS FY 2024 funding, Literacy NJ and the Puerto Rican Action Board will provide citizenship instruction to 140 LPRs, administer naturalization eligibility screenings to 140 LPRs, and file 140 Forms N-400 and G-28.
