About

The Literacy Council of Reading-Berks (LCRB) and Aldea –The People’s Justice Center (Aldea) together provide an integrated citizenship application services and instruction program, in which LCRB offers citizenship instruction and Aldea provides citizenship application services to LPRs in Berks County, Pennsylvania, especially in the town of Reading, where approximately 19% of residents are foreign born - primarily from Central America, the Caribbean, and Asia. LCRB has been delivering citizenship instruction since 1988 and Aldea has been providing free and low-cost immigration legal services since 2016. FY 2022 is the first year that LCRB has been awarded a USCIS grant. With USCIS FY 2022 funding, LCRB and Aldea will provide citizenship instruction to 200 LPRs, administer naturalization eligibility screenings to 200 LPRs, and file 200 Forms N-400 and G-28.
