The Literacy Center of West Michigan (Literacy Center) has partnered with sub-awardee Immigrant Connection of City Life Church (Immigrant Connection) to provide citizenship preparation services in western Michigan. The Literacy Center began offering citizenship preparation classes primarily to immigrants from Mexico, Honduras, and Burma in 2019. Immigrant Connection has been providing naturalization application services since their founding in 2015. FY 2022 is the first year that the Literacy Center has been awarded a USCIS grant. With USCIS FY 2022 funding, the Literacy Center and Immigrant Connection will provide citizenship instruction to 200 LPRs, administer naturalization eligibility screenings to 200 LPRs, and file 200 Forms N-400 and G-28.
