About
The International Rescue Committee Denver (IRC Denver) strives to address the critical need for citizenship services among LPRs in the Denver metro and greater Front Range areas. Serving nearly 6,000 refugees, Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) recipients, asylees, and other immigrants since 2016, IRC Denver provides wraparound services aimed at supporting stability and long-term integration for its clients. Colorado is home to 160,929 LPRs, with over 125,000 eligible for naturalization. The Denver metro and greater Front Range areas house the majority of these eligible LPRs, many of whom face significant barriers to naturalization, such as high application costs, language proficiency issues, and limited access to legal and educational support. With only 12% of eligible LPRs in Denver considered to have a high probability of naturalizing, the IRC’s participation in the CITA program addresses a pressing need for accessible citizenship services. Through the Citizenship and Integration Training Academy (CITA) program, IRC Denver aims to develop comprehensive citizenship education programming and naturalization application services for LPRs in the Denver metro and greater Front Range areas.
