About
The Catholic Charities Bureau of Jacksonville, Florida (CCB) provides services to lawful permanent residents of the United States who mostly obtained their legal status based on refugee, asylum, family petitions, VAWA, U and T Visas. CCB offers integration activities, citizenship instruction, and naturalization application services, to include naturalization eligibility screenings, application filing, interview preparation, and appearance with clients at the interview (as necessary). The population served in the five-county northeast Florida region come from a diverse array of countries including Afghanistan, Cuba, Haiti, DRC, Syria, Myanmar, and Ukraine. Native languages include Dari, Spanish, Swahili, Arabic, Burmese, and Ukrainian. Educational backgrounds vary widely, from some clients being illiterate in their native languages to others holding higher degrees in fields such as medicine. FY 2022 is the first year that CCB has been awarded a USCIS grant. With USCIS FY 2022 funding, CCB will develop integration plans and provide citizenship instruction to 170 eligible immigrants, administer naturalization eligibility screenings to 125 LPRs, and file 115 Forms N-400 and G-28.
